If you are looking for a place for high tea that is iconic and classic elegance look no further. On a visit to New York with my teenager daughter we had the chance to have high tea at the plaza. It was such a lovely experience. I would highly recommend visiting the Palm court and having high tea if you have the chance. A super fun place to dress up while you enjoying a mid day snack and break from the hustle and bustle of the streets of the big city.

One of the best afternoon teas I've been to in NY. Sure it's expensive, but the flavors of all the sandwiches and desserts really shine. Great service and ambiance as well. Make a reservation!

Delicious food and welcoming staff! Everything was prepared well, and the portions were generous. Lost a star due to wait time, but still highly recommended.

The plaza hotel is ny history, we're talking 1907. It's a place that if you can get to, then you go. The palm court with tea time and sanndwhiches is fabulous, think London. The food and caviar is great. The bar is first come and the sit down is reservation, sometimes even walk in. Don't let the hostess deter you when she is stating pricing and looking at you for a reaction. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Then there is the champagne bar next door. Go see Russell and sit at the five spot bar. He makes the experience incredible and is the guy who loves his job and is always inquisitive about where you've been. This bar, even has more options for food than palm. But there are times when if you're not staying there then you can't sit down with Russell. Enjoy a ny staple and let the ambience and decor and history sink in.

Elegant and exceptional haven from the madding crowd of Central Park South. The high tea is as good as many in England, and nice to see a sense of decorum with appropriate dress code encouraged (blazer and tie not required but I'd imagine crop tops, shorts and sneakers might be frowned upon). No reservation? Have a seat at the centrally located bar and admire the planting around the room with its tall domed glass ceiling and beautiful surroundings. Great place for people watching, while being attended to with prompt and courteous service.

I scheduled my reservation on the last weekend The Palm Court was hosting their Signature Tea in Wicked Theme. It was a spur of the moment reservation that I forgot to cancel because my friend didn't want to go anymore and I thought, might as well enjoy it! Entry was quite confusing.. I had to circle through the whole block because the main entrance was designated for guests of the hotel. I ended up finding an entrance through the shops. Attendants was able to let us in near our appointed time and directed us on how to get to Palm Court. It was a short wait to be seated. We each selected a tea of our choice. Our server suggested we try mixing both of our teas which was a great idea. It tasted great! I had Du Hammam which is a fruity blend of green tea with rose petals, green dates and berries. We also had Des Alizés which is also a fruity green tea with pieces of white peach, kiwi and watermelon. I spent 2 hours enjoying tea sandwiches, scones and pastries and sweets. By far, this is the most expensive tea experience I've attended. The location is beautiful, and the everything is especially appetizing. If it's worth it.. I don't have an answer to that. Would I come again? Yes, certainly!

Loved the Palm court for breakfast! I arrived around 9:30 for breakfast and there was plenty of seating. The decor in there is so beautiful and such a fun place to eat! *** if you aren't staying at the hotel, be careful when you go! I did stay at the hotel, but I saw multiple people go up to the hostess stand to get a table that were not staying at the hotel and they were told that it is open for non hotel guests from 6:30 to 8:30 AM And for afternoon tea starting at 11:00, and they were turned away. I got coffee and fruit and it was all very delicious and plated very beautifully. I only saw a server a couple times so the service could've been better. And it was very pricey. $50 for a coffee and a plate of fruit.

What a fun experience! It really helped me feel like Christmas was here. When we arrived, there was a long time of others who had reservations at the same time but we were seated quickly. There was also coat service so we didn't have to lug our big coats to the table. Our server was very kind and cheerful. They saw it was my birthday on the reservation so he brought out a small cake and started singing, but didn't check my name so thankfully my husband was there for that part of the song, but otherwise a very sweet gesture. Once we picked which level of tea we wanted, everything came quickly. All the pastries and sandwiches were great. The scones were buttery and flakey, and the clotted cream to go with it was so smooth. There was one sandwich that didn't sit well with me and it was the foie gras macron with truffle. I LOVE truffle, but this one was even a little stinky and so rich for me. And because of the oil from the foie gras, the macaron was pretty soggy. A fun concept but didn't love the execution. By the time we made it to the sweets level, I was filling up and only tasted bites of most. All were really sweet but I wanted to finish as much as I could since they weren't cheap! My husband helped out with that. There were a ton of tea options. I cannot remember the exact kinds we picked but I got one similar to chai and my husband got one that was pretty peachy and both were great and you got SO much of it. I felt bad for not even finishing half of my pot. This was a treat for my 30th and I'm glad we did it, but it will probably be the only time due to cost.

Such a cute high tea/afternoon tea!! I went for my 31st birthday (Nov 2024) and it totally fulfilled all my childhood Eloise dreams. Hospitality and service were top notch. My friend is a vegetarian and I'm not the most adventurous eater, so I (very embarrassingly) asked if I could substitute for the sandwiches from children's Eloise menu, and the server made me feel like I wasn't a total weirdo lol. Definitely a beautiful day all around! P.S. Must try the Plaza custom blend tea, especially if visiting in the holidays. It tasted like Christmas in a cup! We each did The Plaza Holiday Signature Tea ($155pp) with 2 glasses of champagne each--the total came to $545 with gratuity (automatically) included.
